Everything families need for recital

Recital location

Lewis & Clark Community College, 5800 Godfrey Rd., Godfrey, IL 62035. Performances are held in Hathaway Cultural Center. Friends and family should enter through the building entrance and go up the outside stairs to the large auditorium doors.

Check-in and pick-up

A parent or guardian brings the dancer to the dressing room entrance. After check-in, class moms and teachers supervise the dancer and costumes. After the show, parents report to the designated check-out area.

Hair, makeup, and costumes

Hair must be worn up and off the face. Light makeup is suggested so dancers are not washed out by stage lights. Do not wear costumes, accessories, or tights before recital photos, dress rehearsal, or the performance.

Finale dance

Everyone is in the finale. Dancers wear the DK Recital t-shirt and black booty shorts, packed in the costume bag. The short finale dance will be taught in class.

The investment

Costume balances are due 01/09/27. Pay by cash or credit/debit card; costumes will not be ordered without full payment.

The $150 family recital fee is due 03/03/27. It covers ticketing, production, facility rental, music licensing, livestreaming, staff, the dancer’s recital t-shirt, and related show costs.

Parent dance

A great way for parents to join the recital fun. Learn a dance to perform at recital with the Mom Squad or Daddy/Daughter Dance.

Costumes and care

Costumes may change based on ship dates and size availability. The order date is 01/25. Location-specific galleries for Alton, Jerseyville, and Florissant will be added as costume photos are available.

Costume care reminders

Do not wear costumes before photos, dress rehearsal, or recital. Press costumes before the show, store hats in a hatbox, steam tutus upside down, remove packaging string from fringe skirts, and label every costume, shoe, accessory, and pair of tights.
